McDonald's and Krispy Kreme End Business Partnership

 McDonald's (MCD.N) and doughnut maker Krispy Kreme (DNUT.O) have ended their business partnership. Both companies said they would terminate their partnership in the United States in July. This is because the two companies had difficulty managing the costs associated with the joint venture.   Under the partnership, announced in March last year, McDonald's had planned to sell Krispy Kreme donuts as part of its breakfast menu at over 14,000 stores in the US.   However, so far, the donuts are only available at 2,400 McDonald's restaurants, according to the company. "In the end, our efforts to align our costs with unit demand were unsuccessful, making this partnership unsustainable for us," Krispy Kreme CEO Josh Charlesworth said, as reported by Reuters on Thursday (6/26/2025).
