Vance Boelter, the man behind the murder of a Minnesota lawmaker

 Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were shot and killed. A man named Vance Boelter was the person behind the murder case.

Minnesota was shocked by this murder case. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz accused the murder of being politically charged.

"What appears to be a politically motivated murder," Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said at a press conference as reported by CNN news agency, Saturday (6/14/2025).

Minnesota State Senator John Hoffman and his wife were also targeted by the same person and each shot multiple times. They underwent surgery and were saved

"The Hoffman family is now out of surgery and undergoing treatment. We are very optimistic that they will survive this assassination attempt," the governor said.

Both lawmakers are members of Minnesota's Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party. Officials at the press conference said the suspect is still at large and a massive manhunt is underway. The FBI is also investigating.

Authorities are also looking for a man wearing black body armor and a blue shirt who may be posing as law enforcement, one law enforcement source told CNN.
