Germany Vs France: Les Bleus Win 2-0, Finish Third in Nations League

 The French national team closed the 2024/2025 UEFA Nations League in third place. This was after Les Bleus won 2-0 over the German national team.

In the match for third place at the Stuttgart Arena, Sunday (8/6/2025) evening WIB, Germany and France both fielded their best squads. Germany played dominantly from the start.

They had made 7 attempts throughout the 20 minutes compared to France's 2. Mike Maignan's toughness under the French crossbar made Germany's chances fail to result in goals.

Germany almost got a penalty in the 35th minute when Karim Adeyemi was brought down by Mike Maignan in the penalty box, as he tried to pass him. VAR then canceled it because Adeyemi was considered to have dived and was given a yellow card.

Two minutes later Florian Wirtz almost gave Germany the lead if his kick in front of the penalty box did not hit the post.

France ended the first half with a 1-0 lead in the 45th minute. Mbappe received a pass from Aurelien Tchouameni on the left side and after fooling Joshua Kimmich, he kicked the ball into the far post of Marc-Andre Ter Stegen's goal.

Entering the second half, France still dominated the game and almost scored several times.

Germany broke through Maignan's goal in the 53rd minute through Denis Undav but was canceled by VAR. In the replay, there was a foul by Nicklas Fuellkrug on Adrien Rabiot before the goal occurred.

Germany tried to equalize the score but their efforts were in vain. Instead, France added a goal in the 84th minute through a counterattack.

Starting with Robin Koch's mistake in cutting off a high pass, the ball fell at Mbappe's feet who immediately dribbled it into the penalty box.

In a two-on-one situation, Mbappe passed to Michael Olise who easily put it past Ter Stegen.

The score of 2-0 lasted until the end of the match and France was entitled to be the third best in the Nations League.
